The war on Al Quaeda has become a global counter-insurgency- Africom is up and running Iraq is grinding on and Afghanistan is spinning out of control.
First we should prioritize. As AQI has been defeated in the field beyond saying that it is draining resources from other fights i.e. Pakistan Afghanistan. What we need to be doing is building a force that can deal with the future hybrid conflicts that we are already starting to see. What I want to write about here are areas that the Pentagon of the next administration can focus on to bring our military up to its future challenges.
